It’s not the most exciting thing I’ve ever made, but here’s my latest;
That thrilling creation is a sleeve for my new chromebook. I did make a quick one from felt, but it got so covered in cat hair I couldn’t bear to keep using it. This one is leather, a lovely soft turquoise skin I picked up from Le Prevo ages ago despite having no sensible use for it. It’s been in my loft since, but now has found its purpose. It’s lined with a faux suede fabric, nice and smooth for sliding the chromebook in and out. The top stitching is hand done in contrast embroidery thread. It’s not exactly traditional leather stitching thread, but this didn’t need to be very strong and I like the sheen next to the matte leather.
Did you notice my subtle mention of my SHINY AND CHROME new laptop? Well, chromebook. It’s very snazzy. Lightweight and simple, the battery lasts forever. It only comes with Google Chrome OS, but I’ve been duel booting Ubuntu on mine. XFCE is easy to get running with Crouton, but I’ve fallen in love with Bodhi on my desktop so fancy trying to get that running on it instead. Not that Chrome is that bad, it’s much better than I expected.
Anyhow, there shall be more crafting. I’m re-doing my bathroom and tweaking my living room, so DIY is eating my crafting time at the moment. But I’m getting that ‘must make something’ itch…
